Choicer Voicer Surround-Sound and Virtual Audio Test

The developer says surround-sound setups may be related to microphone failures. Treat that as a testable lead: simplify the audio path once, compare results, and keep the original setup recoverable.

Verification policy

Unverified experiment. The original query failed the competition gate because multiple sources already answered it.

Why this test is justified

The official warning connects some reports to surround-sound configurations and broader Godot microphone limitations. It does not publish a confirmed root cause or supported-device matrix.

Run one reversible comparison

  • Note the current default input and output devices.
  • Temporarily select a simple physical microphone and standard stereo output.
  • Pause virtual mixers or surround processors for this one test.
  • Run the same phrase in the official demo, then restore the original route.

Read the comparison carefully

If the simple route works and the original route fails repeatedly, the route is associated with the failure in your setup. That is still not proof of the exact engine defect or a guarantee for other systems.

When to stop troubleshooting

If both routes fail while ordinary recording works, stop presenting configuration guesses as fixes. Capture the version, OS, microphone, output device, and whether the No Gameplay Demo reproduced the issue.
